Interior Design Trends for 2021
Tap into 2021’s biggest interior trends to reinvent and refresh your home for the year ahead.
Before we dive in…
When we work with clients, our goal is to create spaces that never go out of style — this means never leaning too hard into one trend or design style. We highly recommend mixing multiple trends with tried and true classics in order to future proof your home.
The home office as focal point
With working from home on the rise, we’re seeing the home office turn into a defining element of homes. The room that was once an afterthought, is being reimagined. Your desk, shelves and storage should serve you, not the other way around. Consider your workflow and what items you need at your fingertips before investing in furniture, and then look for pieces that are both beautiful and functional. You should never sacrifice form over functionality.
Say hello to colored kitchens
While the all white kitchen will probably never go out of style, colored cabinets are an unexpected design choice that makes a huge difference – especially if your home has an open floor plan. Choose a refined color like dark blue, or grey that won’t easily go out of style — pair with classic hardware such as brass to create a classic look and feel.
In the era of open-plan homes, home designs are incorporating more multifunctional rooms into their floor plans. Kitchens with islands become both dining rooms and workstations. Offices double as guest bedrooms. Due to constrained space, some smaller homes require you to combine room functionality.
Drawing inspiration from hotel designs, this trend creates luxurious interiors that make you feel like you’re on vacation, everyday. The ultra-glamorous trend brings a luxurious feel to the home.
